Something borrowed, something blue

A good friend of mine is getting hitched in 9 days and counting *fingers crossed I don’t get sick or run over by a car by then*. Besides the general excitement that comes with weddings, the fact that I’m a bridesmaid makes it even more special. I’m super excited and we’ve been planning things and making files, folders and discs of hair options, dress options and all that other stuff that makes complete sense to women and men would never think of.
Because I’m now in wedding mode, I couldn’t help but think of the poem:

Something old, something new
Something borrowed, something blue
And a silver sixpence in her shoe.

Something old to represent the past she is leaving behind. Something new for all the new experiences in her future. Something borrowed to remind her that she can always depend on her friends and family. And something blue to represent modesty and love.
Here is to a happy, healthy marriage full of love and laughter.
